Description:
Regional climate models (RCMs) are widely used tools to produce high-resolution climate simulations at regional scales. The ICTP regional climate modeling system, RegCM, is one of the most used RCMs worldwide, with applications ranging from regional process studies to paleoclimate, climate change, chemistry-climate and biosphere-atmosphere interactions. This event will include lectures and hands-on sessions on the theory of regional climate dynamics and regional climate change while providing a background on regional climate modeling studies focused on the South American region.

The School is intended for early career scientists and advanced PhD students from developing countries, in particular South America. There is no registration fee and limited funds are available for local and travel support of participants. More information can be accessed via the ICTP activity agenda page at: http://indico.ictp.it/event/7618/ and a direct link to the online application is available below.
