How could aliens traveling in a starship correct a human physicist’s calculations in quantum gravity (M-theory)? Solving this involves both relativity and “off-shell” quantum knowledge. Network Theory, from computer science and computational thinking, has provided the foundation for the answer.

with the Strings 2021 speakers, a panel of journalists including Graham Farmelo (Institute for Advanced Study), Jandira Oliveira (ICTP-SAIFR), Marcos Pivetta (Science editor of Pesquisa Fapesp), Henry Reich (MinutePhysics), and the moderator David Gross (KITP/UC Santa Barbara, 2004 Nobel Laureate).
In this event, the public will be invited to send questions by Youtube chat which will be selected by the journalists and answered by the Strings 2021 speakers.
