The School on the Electron-Ion Collider and QCD will provide graduate students, postdocs, and other early-career scientists with an introduction to the theoretical and experimental foundations of the physics program of the future Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). Lectures by leading experts will cover the structure of hadrons and nuclei in Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), parton distribution functions, spin and three-dimensional nucleon structure, nuclear modifications of parton distributions, high-energy QCD, and the broader connections between EIC and LHC physics. The program will combine lectures with exercises and hands-on activities involving event generators, Monte Carlo methods, and detector simulations.
Emphasis will be placed on interaction between lecturers and students, with opportunities for participants to discuss their own research and develop connections with the international EIC community.
This School will be followed by the Workshop on the Electron-Ion Collider as a Probe of Quantum Chromodynamics (May 19 – 21, 2027).
There is no registration fee and limited funds are available for travel and local expenses.
