Alternative routes to IFT-UNESP

If you are coming from the hotel (Universe Flat Paulista)

• By subway (5,20 BRL): approximately 40-45 minutes

You can take the subway at Trianon-Masp Station, which is the closest one to the hotel. Take the Green Line (towards Vila Madalena) and get off at Consolação Station. From there, transfer to the Yellow Line (towards Vila Sônia) and go to República Station. At República, change to the Red Line (towards Barra Funda) and get off at Barra Funda Station. At Barra Funda, follow the signs for “Exit A – Av. Marquês de São Vicente”, then cross the street to reach IFT. This is the link to the Google app route.

Alternative in case of metro strike:

Alternatively, in case of metro strike, you can walk to the “Paulista Pernambucanas” metro station. (The yellow line is managed by a different company, and it is often not affected by strikes.) It is a 20 min walk from the hotel. From the “Paulista Pernambucanas” Station you also have the option to go to Luz station and then take the CPTM line 7- Rubi train to “Barra Funda” Station. (They are integrated transportation systems, so you will not pay for another ticket. However, please make sure that the CPTM trains are running normally, as they may also be affected by strikes.)

• By Bus (5,00 BRL cash only on the bus): approximately 45-50 minutes

You will have to walk approximately 5 minutes until the bus stop located at Av. Paulista 1374 and take either the “875P-10 – Metrô Barra Funda” bus and get off at the final stop, or take the “175P-10 – Metrô Santana” bus and get off at the Metrô Barra Funda stop.
Note that this route may take longer depending on traffic.

• By Uber (30 – 40 BRL): approximately 30 minutes (the fare and travel time may vary depending on traffic conditions)

You just have to type that you are going to “IFT-Instituto de Física Teórica – IFT- UNESP” or “UNESP – Barra Funda”.
