Postdoctoral position in quantum many-body systems and quantum thermodynamics

A newly established research group led by Dario Rosa – at the ICTP South American Institute for Fundamental Research (ICTP-SAIFR), located at the campus of the Instituto de Física Teórica (IFT-UNESP) in São Paulo – is looking for postdoctoral fellows willing to join the group.

The research interests of the group cover several topics, whose common theme is to study the impact of quantum chaos – or its absence – on the physics of quantum many-body systems. In parallel, we will apply this acquired knowledge to the flourishing fields of quantum technologies and quantum thermodynamics.

As an example, the following themes are of interest:

  • Late-time quantum chaos and BGS conjecture
  • Early-time quantum chaos and operator scrambling
  • Many-body localization
  • Quantum many-body scars
  • Neural quantum states and MPS methods
  • Quantum batteries
  • Quantum engines
  • Thermodynamic uncertainty relations
  • More details on Dario’s research activity can be found at the following link, as well as at his Google Scholar web-page.

Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent computational skills (analytical and/or numerical are both welcome) and the ability to work on the main research interests of the group are essential for these positions. Applicants should also have a strong interest to work in a multidisciplinary and dynamic research environment.

Interested applicants should apply following the procedure explained at this link.

For informal inquires you can contact Dario Rosa by email (dario.rosa85@gmail.com).
